Dungey’s Furniture & Floors continues to honor the family legacy started by Everett Dungey in 1963 at his “Bargain Barn” at 960 East Main Street in New Hampton, Iowa.
Everett’s two sons, Mark and Trace, took over the family business in 1983. Four years later they opened a second store in Osage, Iowa to better serve Northeast and North Central Iowa.
In October 2014, just one year after celebrating 50 years in business, their East Main store was destroyed by fire. Dungey’s was temporarily located in the old Soy Basics outlet on Industrial Avenue in New Hampton, Iowa on the West end of town. The ground breaking for the new store took place on June 2nd, 2016. A 25,000 square foot building is now open at 904 Canty Avenue located behind McDonald’s. The grand opening took place in October of 2017.
The Dungey family is humbled and grateful for the ongoing support from their loyal customers. They will continue to offer furniture, flooring, bedding, and window treatments for generations to come.
